I read the reviews and used the trial versions of PowerDirector, Corel Visual Studio and Magix Movie Edit Pro. To start, I was prejudiced towards Corel - they got the #1 rating here and Corel has been around.

Do not buy this software if you need it for advance video editing. It has basic functionality that works and it will take you some time to find what does not. Initially I was just using it to edit some of my old movies recorder on DVD and that was fine.

So I downloaded and created a home video using the trial version. At first I had problems with it crashing while playing my AVCHD camera videos on my Windows Vista, QuadCore CPU 2.4GHz PC. However, after I updated the drivers to my Intel G33/G31 graphics
